Good wireless mic for the price - I bought this unit for karaoke in a party with some friends at our subdivision clubhouse. I had the base plugged into my laptop (had to get a 1/8 stereo to 1/4 mono adapter to use with the supplied 1/4 mono cable in order to use with the standard laptop mic input) and had the input mixed with other pre-recorded karaoke tracks and output through a home theater receiver. The unit served this purpose well - ie. good reception with the mics being within 15ft of the base and good reproduction of voice without any static or other distortion. In all, a great buy for the price and purpose.
Useless for Singstar, Rockband et al - Might be a good product - bought it to use with SignStar and Rockband, but the output from the receiver is mixed so the game will not be able to tell the singers apart. Return !
Budget Microphones for Karaoke - I also run Karaoke and I read the reviews here before purchasing this set. First of all, they are not Shure beta 58 mics that s true. They also don t cost $600 a peice. They are (for all practical purposes) pretty decent microphones for Karaoke use. I am impressed that they sound as good as they do and I m not sure how they can produce and sell these mics for that cheap of a price. One feature that I really appreciate is that they do not make any noise when switching them off and on. The microphones don t have the weight of some other higher priced mics so that gives it a bit of a cheaper feel but it s not too bad. They are certainly comfortable to hold and use. The receiver feels pretty fragile and I don t think a drop to the floor would allow it s survival so don t do that. I haven t run into any problems as far as reception goes. The bars I play are relatively small though so they re limits have not been tested. Overall I m really happy with these microphones and at these prices I can afford to replace them regularly if need be.
very bad - Actually if you want to suffer for a while buying these microphones, have a great sound but have the disadvantage that 10 meters and got problems of signal and walls because if there is less distance and it will sound
Just okay - I bought these microphones to compliment a Shure wireless microphone that I borrowed from our church for a large anniversary party. These mics weren t even in the same ballpark, but they worked okay. I had to crank the gain all the way up to hear them when trying to mix with music. But, what do you expect for $40!
